In contemporary art practice, shadow is not only the result of blocking a light source, it is also the result of unlocking the viewer’s perception through interpretation. Although it makes shadow, seeks to explore the possibilities of sculpture as a constantly evolving art form that allows us to reach malleable spaces for reflection.
Time, space, sound, error, and memory are some of the concepts of plastic experimentation through which eleven artists, with different styles and media, invite us to visit this exhibition of clean walls where the shadow is the starting point for questioning our perception of contemporary sculpture and its current meaning.
Finally, a dialogue between contemporary practice and its modern sculptural counterparts is proposed to conceptualize the works of contemporary artists together with familiar and historical elements. “
Sculpture is what you bump into when you back up to see a painting.” Barnett Newman
