The op.cit. Foundation in Mexico presents Trafficker of Signs, an exhibition by Colombian artist Camilo Restrepo that pushes the boundaries of imagery and narrative. Conceived during his residency in Mexico City, this exhibition was created directly on the walls of the space and later extracted using an innovative restoration technique, transforming it into a transportable mural.

In this work, Restrepo constructs a vibrant visual universe where contemporary art’s cultural wars, popular culture, memes, politics, and Colombia’s historical conflicts intersect. Through a language saturated with symbols, media references, and digital appropriations, the artist immerses us in a narrative where the image is not just representation, but a battlefield in constant transformation. With overwhelming graphic intensity, his work challenges the viewer to reflect on the construction of visual narratives in the digital age and collective memory.

The opening of Trafficker of Signs will take place on Saturday, March 1, at 7:00 PM at op.cit. (Monterrey 278, Roma Sur, CDMX) and will feature the presence of the artist. The exhibition will be open until March 30, 2025, from Monday to Saturday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, by appointment only. A unique opportunity to experience the power of visual signs and explore the multiple layers of meaning in the work of one of the most provocative artists in the contemporary scene. Through his distinctive style—rich in graphics, humor, and references to the political history of Colombia and Latin America—Restrepo invites us to delve into a world where images tell stories of conflict, transformation, and resistance.
