Daniel Brusatín
Born in 1989 in Colombia in a family of flower growers and architects Daniel Brusatin grew up very close to nature and was exposed from an early age to the arts and design. He was a student of fine arts at the Academy of Florence and his research in materials and production techniques lead him to a second career in Milan in design and applied arts. During his studies and upon his arrival in London Brusatin works as a studio assistant to Brian Clarke where his love for stained glass, ceramics and architectural art finds a mentor. Always maintaining his artistic practice he moves his studio from Florence and Milan to Paris and since 2013 he is based in London. Although Daniel Brusatin's work encompasses various artistic disciplines: sculpture, drawing, ceramics, stained glass and architecture; he has always kept painting as the fundamental axis of his practice. Exploring visual language through semiotics, art history and traditional techniques, Brusatin seeks to dismantle the arbitrary lines that divide the arts and allows him to question and review fundamental phenomena such as the relationship between the artist's hand and the forces of nature, the curious case of 'accidentality' in a chaotically ordered world and the role of art in civilization.
